With the exception of Christmas Day the Fishery will be Open every day from Dawn until Dusk. If the fishery is not busy the Cafe will not be opened.
Jeff and I would like to say thank you and also wish all of our Camping, Caravanning and Angling customers that have supported us throughout 2016 a very Happy Christmas and New Year, and we look forward to welcoming you all back next season.
Our new Deluxe Pod arrived last week, and is in the process of being fitted out ready for the new season. That brings the total number of Log Pods to five, 3 Deluxe and 2 standard, all overlooking the top lake, and available to book direct with us via email or telephone.
The fishing has been picking up well with the milder weather with the Ide showing regularly when the carp aren’t feeding so well. The stocking of Tench last winter has been a great addition to the bottom lake with them showing extremely well all throughout the mild winter period. The top lake has been producing some lovely carp, the biggest this weekend weighing in at 10lb 8. Sweetcorn seems to be doing well on both top and bottom lakes, along with soft pellet, and maggot for the Ide on the bottom lake.
The caravan and camping site has been busy with the Easter weekend, although a little wet, we managed to get everyone on and off without too many difficulties. Our plans for the coming season include installing a shower room in the top field toilet block and general maintenance around the whole site.
We are looking forward to welcoming back all of our regulars and also some new faces.
A Happy New Year to everyone, we hope you had a lovely break over the Christmas period.
With all the mild weather we have been experiencing (albeit very wet!!!) the lakes have continued to produce good numbers of fish. We are having regular nets of 30 -50lb of carp, and 10-20lb of silvers showing during two regular matches that are being held by The Vets Angling Club on a Wednesday and Sunday.
The top lake is continuing to produce good size carp upto 11lb, sweetcorn is working well on the top lake. On the bottom lake, soft pelllet for carp and maggot for the increased number of Ide is working well.
From April The Vets Angling Club will be holding Open Matches every second Wednesday for over 55’s or disabled anglers on the bottom lake, if you are interested please give us a call and we will provide you with contact details for further information.
With the exception of Christmas Day the Fishery will be Open every day from Dawn until Dusk. The Cafe is open on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.

November saw another part of our restocking programme, with an introduction of carp, Ide, Tench, Bream and Chub. The Ide that we introduced in year one and two are now gaining weight and are showing regularly in matches with nets of 20 to 30lb a regular occurrence.
The end of another carvanning and camping season has arrived. We have had a fantastic Summer and have welcomed lots of news visitors and also welcomed back alot of familiar faces this year.
Our Deluxe pods have now been in use for a year, they have been very busy during the Summer months and we have had lots of wonderful comments from our guests, and look forward to welcoming more during the winter months.
